AeroTek revolutionizes internal air quality management

AeroTek Manufacturing Ltd., an industry leader in aerospace metal finishing, today announced the implementation of upgrades to its air-quality management system that will further ensure safe and healthy conditions for its operations team and stakeholders. The new system analyzes air quality in real time, enabling changes to AeroTek’s facility operations to allow continual optimization of the work environment.

“Safeguarding and improving air quality for our team members and our community is a top priority. Going forward, these system enhancements will be a key part of fulfilling our ongoing commitment to health-and-safety and environmental responsibility.” – Jonathan Schofield, President and Chief Executive Officer of AeroTek

AeroTek has proactively addressed outgoing air quality for many years through the installation of advanced air scrubbers and the elimination of environmentally unfriendly processes wherever possible. In the past, obtaining real-time data on internal air quality remained an elusive goal, but in 2021 AeroTek’s Health & Safety Continuous Improvement Team took on the task of finding a solution. Today, modern sensor technology, along with an Internet-based Security Technology backbone, is revolutionizing the way AeroTek manages internal air quality. Trends or problems are immediately visible, and the correct responses can be implemented promptly. To AeroTek has installed the environmental sensors in every part of the facility in conjunction with an advanced security system around ingress/egress points.

The parameters for air quality in the system are set by AeroTek’s Health and Safety team, which monitors humidity, temperature, noise levels, particulate levels, TVOCs and other substances to achieve an overall air quality index, from which the company will work to achieve continuous improvement of air quality.
