In order to support the refurbishment of Ontario’s nuclear reactors, AeroTek has implemented a CSA 3800/Z299.3 approved chrome plating process that meets or exceeds all environmental standards.
AeroTek’s chrome plating line uses the Atotech Unichrome solution which produces a smooth, satiny and fault-free surface. The chrome plating line is supported by 3 separate cranes with 1200 lb. capacity each for the 4 ft deep, 7 ft long and 2 ft wide tank. This enables AeroTek to accurately position parts up to 11.5 feet long vertically over the tank. The line uses a single rectifier and conforming anodes for plating and includes a separate strip tank and rectifier with an oven capable of de-embrittlement baking parts up to 16 feet long.
To ensure compliance to the Ministry Of the Environment and Climate Change(MOECC) exhaust regulations, AeroTek applied for the Certificate of Air(CA) from MOECC in 2014 and recently was awarded a new CA for the entire facility including chrome plating.
